CAIE Curriculum

Cambridge Primary

  • Cambridge Primary is typically for learners aged 5 to 11 years. It develops learner skills and understanding through the primary years in English, Mathematics and Science.
  • Cambridge provides assessment tools to help you identify what children are learning, monitor their progress and report to parents. Cambridge Primary is an excellent preparation for Cambridge Secondary 1, and for progression to other educational systems.
  • It sets clear learning objectives in English, mathematics and science for each year of primary education.
  • It focuses on developing knowledge and skills in core subjects which form an excellent foundation for future study.
  • It is compatible with other curricula, internationally relevant and sensitive to different needs and cultures.
  • It provides schools with international benchmarks.
  • Cambridge Primary provides an optional testing structure to assess learner performance and to report progress to learners and parents.
  • Progression tests: these are end-of-stage tests which are available for English, Mathematics and Science for stages 3 to 6.
  • Progress Checker: this is an online analysis tool that produces feedback reports based on an analysis of results from the progression tests. The results of the English as a Second Language Progression Tests can be entered alongside those of other subjects in Cambridge Primary.
  • Cambridge Primary Checkpoint: this is a diagnostic assessment tool for the end of the primary phase of education in English, English as a Second Language, Mathematics and Science.

Cambridge Secondary 1

  • It provides a natural progression from primary education.
  • It sets clear learning objectives for the first three years of secondary education in English, mathematics and science.
  • It is compatible with other curricula, internationally relevant and sensitive to different needs and cultures.
  • It focuses on learners development and provides schools with international benchmarks.

Cambridge Secondary 1 provides an optional testing structure to assess learner performance and to report progress to learners and parents.
  • Progression tests: these are end-of- stage tests which are available for English, English as a Second Language, Mathematics and Science for stages 7 to 9.
  • Progress Checker: this is an online analysis tool that produces feedback reports based on an analysis of results from the progression tests.
  • Cambridge Checkpoint: this is a diagnostic assessment tool for the end of the Secondary 1 phase of education in English, English as a Second Language, Mathematics and Science.

IGCSE (Cambridge Secondary 2)

The International General Certificate of Secondary Education (IGCSE) is an academically rigorous, internationally used & specialized English language curriculum.

  • Schools in about 160 countries offer this programme
  • Encourages high academic standards through a practicalapproach to teaching and learning.
  • Assessment is not limited to conventional written papers and they consist of a variety of tests; e.g. oral and listening tests.
  • Most subjects offer a choice between core curriculumand extended curriculum.
    • Group 1 : Languages (English as a Second Language, English as a First Language, Hindi as a Second Language, French as a Foreign Language)
    • Group 2 : Humanities and Social Sciences (History, Geography, Economics)
    • Group 3 : Sciences (Biology, Chemistry, Physics, Coordinated Science)
    • Group 4 : Mathematics
    • Group 5 : Creative,Technology,Vocational(Art and Design, Information and Communication Technology, Computer Science, Accounting, Business Studies)
  • An eight-point grading scale, from A+ to G, with A+ being the highest
  • For each subject, the certificate merely indicates the grades scored, and not pass or fail.
  • Five scores of 'C' or higher indicates a student’s readiness to pursue +2 level qualifications, like A level, ISC, CBSE, IB Diplomaetc.

International Certificate of Education (ICE)

  • The ICE is a group award.
  • Instead of the five papers needed to obtain the IGCSE, if a student attempts and passes seven or more papers, she/he is awarded the ICE.
  • The seven subjects must be as follows:
    • Two subjects from the language group
    • One from each of the other four groups
    • One more from any of the five groups

Grades for ICE

DISTINCTION: Grade A or better in 5 subjects and Grade C or better in the remaining two.
MERIT: Grade C or better in 5 subjects and Grade F or better in the remaining two.
PASS: Grade G or better in all 7 subjects.

AS & A Level

Thousands of learners worldwide gain places at leading universities every year with Cambridge International AS & A Levels. The syllabuses develop a deep understanding of subjects and independent thinking skills.Cambridge International A Level is typically a two-year course, and Cambridge International AS Level is typically one year. Some subjects can be started as a Cambridge International AS Level and extended to a Cambridge International A Level.
We offer flexibility to learners to build an individualized curriculum, and learners can choose to specialize in a particular subject area or study a range of subjects.
AS & A Level

Group 1 Mathematics and Sciences (Information Technology, Biology, Computer Science, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry)
Group 2 Languages (English Language)
Group 3 Arts and Humanities (Accounting, Art and Design, Business, Economics)
Group 4 Interdisciplinary Subjects (Global Perspectives and Research)

The Cambridge Advanced International Certificate of Education (AICE)

The AICE Diploma is a group award. Minimum requirements for AICE Diploma:

  • Group 1 : Maths& Sciences (Atleast one credit)
  • Group 2: Languages(Atleast one credit)
  • Group 3: Arts & Humanities(Atleast one credit)
  • Group 4: AS Level Global Perspective & Research

Indian Equivalence

To be eligible for undergraduate degree programmes in India, the requirements are:

  • Five passes (including English Language) at grades C or above at IGCSE followed by two or three passes at A Level.
  • Students intending to join medical or engineering degree programmes are required to have obtained

A Level passes in Physics, Chemistry, Biology/ Mathematics and English Language (AS Level) in addition to five passes at IGCSE, provided all other requirements have been met.
